Location of control valves in industry

Modern factories today often use control systems such as DCS, SCADA to operate a production line, a process or the whole plant.

These systems utilize a vast network of control loops to keep a process variable (i.e., pressure, flow, level, temperature, etc.) within a required operating range to ensure the quality end product.

The control valve is a common control device in these control loops. Unlike conventional industrial valves, which operate manually, control valves are automatically opened and closed by electricity or pneumatics thanks to control signals.

The control valve is commonly known as a set of a valve include accessory and three main parts: actuator, positioner, body valve.
