PROVIDING SIEMENS CONVEYOR BELT SCALING SYSTEM AT FORMOSA

ESTEC’s Solution

After conducting an on-site survey and a comprehensive assessment of the plant’s existing system, ESTEC proposed and implemented an optimized solution to improve operational efficiency and ensure accurate control of raw material weight.

Specifically, ESTEC supplied and installed 04 conveyor belt weighing systems with an accuracy of ±0.5% at the coke oven plant — part of the energy division of the factory.

Each system included:

• 02 weighing idlers (Miltronics MMI-2 Siemens)
• 04 auxiliary idlers
• Speed sensor (Sitrans WS300)
• Integrators (Miltronics BW500)
• Junction box, power cables, and control cables

The installation scope covered: equipment installation and mechanical alignment; wiring and connection of power and signal cables; calibration, test run, and operator training.

Results & Value Delivered

The project was completed one month ahead of schedule compared to the original plan.

• ESTEC’s engineering team strictly followed safety and technical procedures on site, earning high recognition from FHS’s construction supervision and safety management team.
• This marked the first time a 100% Vietnamese-owned company was selected to execute this critical scope of work, replacing previous foreign contractors.
• The conveyor belt weighing systems operate stably and accurately, meeting the stringent technical and environmental requirements of the metallurgical industry.
